Misofoni er en tilstand karakterisert av redusert toleranse for spesifikke lyder. Lydene oppleves som ubehagelige eller plagsomme og kan utløse sterke reaksjoner.

Hva er misofoni?

Misofoni er en tilstand der spesifikke, vanlige lyder kan føre til intense negative reaksjoner. Reaksjonene kan være både følelsesmessige, kroppslige og atferdsmessige. Det er ikke lydstyrken som er avgjørende, men heller det spesifikke mønsteret eller betydningen lyden har for personen. Plagene kan variere fra milde til så alvorlige at de påvirker funksjonsevnen i hverdagen.
