Takykardier (hurtig puls): Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW)

Dette er en spesiell form for SVT. Denne arytmien kan unntaksvis forekomme i familier. Den skyldes en medfødt, ekstra ledningsvei mellom atriene og ventriklene. Denne ledningsveien gjør at elektriske impulser kan passere mellom atriene og ventriklene uten å passere gjennom AV-knuten, noe som gir kortere ledningsvei og disponerer for anfall med unormalt rask hjerteaktivitet.
