Nattlysolje: Virkestoffer

Frøene til kjempenattlysplanten er rike på omega-6 fettsyrer (gammalinolensyre, GLA). Den terapeutiske effekten til nattlysolje tilskrives den direkte virkningen av omega-6 fettsyrene på immunceller3, såvel som deres indirekte effekt på stoffer som påvirker betennelsesreaksjoner i kroppen som prostaglandiner, cytokiner og cytokinmediatorer4. Omega-3 og omega-6 fettsyrer antas å påvirke ulike inflammatoriske og immunologiske sykdomsprosesser.
