Spondyloartritter hos voksne

Spondyloartritter er sykdommer som gir betennelser i ledd i ryggen, asymmetrisk betennelse i ett eller noen få ledd, og betennelser på steder der leddbånd eller sener fester til ben.

Spondyl betyr at dette har med ryggen å gjøre, og artritt forteller at det dreier seg om leddbetennelser.

Spondyloartrittene er en familie av sykdommer som har noen fellestrekk. De mest fremtredende trekkene er

  • Betennelse i ledd i ryggen (særlig sakroiliakaleddene),
  • Asymmetrisk betennelse i ett eller noen få ledd - særlig i bena,
  • Entesitt som innebærer betennelse på steder der leddbånd eller sener fester til ben.

Andre tegn kan være utslett, betennelser i øyne eller tarm, eventuelt en sammenheng med forutgående infeksjonssykdom.

Ryggens anatomi

Spondyloartritt-familien består av følgende tilstander:

Forskere har funnet at forekomsten av spondyloartritter er cirka 0,5-1,6 prosent. Det er betydelig variasjon på verdensbasis. Inflammatorisk ryggsykdom (ankyloserende spondylitt, Bekhterev) og udifferensiert spondyloartritt er de hyppigste typene. Sjeldnest er reaktiv artritt.
