Soppinfeksjoner: Candida

Infeksjoner i hud med gjærsoppen Candida ser man på oftest i bleieområdet hos barn, under brystene hos kvinner, i armhuler eller lysker. I tillegg er candida i munnen vanlig hos barn og hos eldre med innsatte tenner. Candidainfeksjon i underlivet er svært vanlig hos unge kvinner. Ved hudinfeksjoner blir huden rød og noen ganger væskende. Ofte finner man øyer av påvirket hud utenfor kanten av utslettet. Huden kan klø og noen opplever svie. Candida kan også gi kronisk neglebetennelse.
