Livmorhalskreft: Ulike stadier

Livmorhalskreft deles inn i ulike stadier, avhengig av hvor utbredt sykdommen er. Sykdomsstadium har stor betydning for hvilken behandling du vil bli tilbudt. Ved stadium I er kreftsvulsten fremdeles begrenset til livmorhalsen. Dette gjelder i omkring halvparten av tilfellene. Stadium IV, som er langt sjeldnere, er det alvorligste. Da har svulsten vokst inn i andre organer eller spredt seg via blod eller lymfe til andre organer. Mellom disse to ytterpunktene finner vi stadium II og III.
