Prestasjonsfrem. midler og idrett: Proteintilskudd

Proteinbehovet er lett økt blant svært aktive idrettsutøvere. I utholdenhetsidretter er proteinbehovet beregnet å være 1,2-1,4 g/kg kroppsvekt per dag, mens det i styrkeidretter kan være så høyt som 1,6-1,7 g/kg per dag. Disse anbefalte proteinmengdene tilføres for de fleste gjennom kosten alene, uten behov for tilskudd av protein eller aminosyrer, hvis energiinntaket er tilstrekkelig til å opprettholde kroppsvekten3.

Proteintilskudd har få bivirkninger og er tillatt i idretten.
